Snow Day

A few weekends ago we actually got snow in Charlotte! Growing up, I remember getting snow often but it seems to be rare these days. The snow came really fast and covered the ground within fifteen minutes. I had never seen anything like it before. Todd took this video during that time...

This was Maggie's first snow and she loved it! She kept wanting to eat the snow. Warning: I have an insanely high pitch southern baby talk voice. Todd especially loves to make fun of my "woooooo" at the end.

The snow reminded us of our sweet memories from when we lived in Boone. Surprisingly, we never got many snow pics together when we lived there and the only one I got from our Charlotte snow is blurry. Go figure.

Home sweet home looking mighty cozy in the snow.

Cheers to yet another great moment.

Lots of Love

Ya'll this happened this past week:

After years and years of reading the Young House Love blog, I finally got to meet them! Call me a total geek (my husband did) but I was so giddy all day Tuesday. My college roommate, Ashley, pictured above with me is also a huge fan and I'm so glad we were able to go together. We made some great memories such as trying to strategically plan how to be one of the firsts to get our books signed since our other college roommate was in the process of getting engaged and we had a party to get to! My bold personality made it happen and you can read all about it on Ashley's blog.

After we got our books signed and said our hellos, we literally were running through the UNCC Student Union to our car. The happy engaged couple were to arrive at 7:15 so we wanted to get there before that to join in on the surprise. We were about fifteen minutes late but it worked our perfect because Rachael called us while we were in the car to tell us she was engaged and she had no idea that we were actually on our way to see her. When we arrived, she was just glowing with joy.

It was so fun to catch up with friends and celebrate Rachael and Adam. I am SO happy for her and can't wait for the wedding this year! I am so thankful to share life with these girls.

Such a great evening. Such a great moment. After my last post of confession, I do want to say, I really did let myself enjoy the moment. I was completely present and it was so good for my soul.
