I'm Sara and this is my husband, Todd, the most patient man I know.
I love him.
A little throwback for you and fun facts but really I view it as God's beautiful master plan:
We were both born the same year, same hospital, in Charlotte, NC. While we were only strangers for many years, my mom and his dad actually went to high school together. We are both preacher's kids and our dads knew each other. Todd's father passed away when Todd was four and my dad attended the funeral yet we kids personally didn't know each other.
That same year, Todd is diagnosed with Kidney cancer. Thankfully a kidney was removed and his health is restored!
Fast forward to 2005 when we both left the Charlotte area to attend Appalachian State, still strangers. Even though we had many of the same friends, we didn't meet until our sophomore year on the Campus Crusade Fall retreat. This picture was taken just hours after meeting. We became instant friends and I instantly started crushing on him. This is me thinking "that cute guy I just met is touching my arm!"
Still friends, the following summer we both worked at Camp Caswell on the BeDoTell team. Todd was the drummer in the worship band and I was on the drama team performing skits. Towards the end of the summer we shared our first dance…me still crushing but little did I know Todd was too.

At the end of the summer, he told me he wanted to be in a relationship. So we went back to App State to start our Junior year officially as a couple. Todd got an offer to be in the touring band, Philmont, so he left college after the first semester to be a touring musician.
For three years we dated as Todd traveled with the band and I finished school. In July of 2010, Todd took me back to camp where our relationship truly started to propose. He then left the band, we both returned back to App State so he could complete his degree and I began graduate school.
On May 28, 2011 we got married and it was a beautiful day of celebrating with our friends and family.
We set sail for our honeymoon on a week long cruise and had the best time!
In 2012 we finished school, moved back to Charlotte, both started new jobs and got a goldendoodle puppy. Looking back, that was a crazy season but so worth it now!
Marriage to us has been the most beautiful portrait of Christ's love. We see each other at highs and lows and yet still choose to love each other unconditionally.
March 6, 2016 our lives changed forever as we welcomed our baby girl, Peri Kathryn. We are so in love with her and loving the journey of parenthood!
